Did it really????
Did it really????I was reading times of india and on the main page there is a headline commemorating the 'Pokhran' nuclear blast that India conducted on the 11th and 13th of May 1998. I was of the opinion that what purpose these test serve? For a country which is still under developed, with its rampant poverty what good these nuclear tests do to the common man...I guess Nothing!! The paper talks about the new found resilience that India showed in fighting the developed nations or the bullies and not letting them push India into obscurity and condemnation.I feel that the way things are these days and the way Indian economy is opening no country would have liked to corner India and loose a lucrative market. For me it was an egotistical work on BJP led governments part. They just wanted to have an extra slogan or a catch phrase for there election campaign. My question is what good you achieved by conducting the test nothing, zilch, nada. These test didn't catapult India into some fairyland where every one was in awe of India. Nothing as such happened. We are still the same old country with poverty, where people live on daily wages, literacy level is low. What India needs is not an explosion of atomic bomb but an explosion of goodwill, prosperity and well being......keeping fingers crossed.
volte-face (vôlt-fäs')
Well this is what Mr. L.K.Advani should be called as. This man has the chutzpah to make a statement and then totaly retract from it as if he never said it. Though he said it and every body knows that he said it. This the ever flexible Mr. L.K.Advani. He has this nice ability to recant any thing he says. I was really amazed when he gave that statement about the 'Babri Mosque' issue.
Well to be frank I feel its not the guilt thats making him do this, its the greed of the post of 'PM' thats making him do this.
I some how have a gut feeling that Advani wants the Ex. PM of India tag to his name. I would like to say to Mr.Advani that you think people are gullible and you can easily lead them up to the garden path. You can for some time but not all the time Mr.Advani.
The rebuttal had to come from none other that Mr. Singhal whose prime motif of life is to give statements and be a nuisance. This I think is a well orchestrated ploy which they think will work and will hopefully catapult them back into power.
Mr. Advani, its time for young leaders of some calibre to come up (if BJP has any) and all the older ones should be there for guidance ( if you can guide).
